Welcome to the Newtown History Trolly Tour!

Our 2025 Newtown Heritage Festival trolley tour will celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary by covering Revolutionary War Veterans from town! Believe it or not, we already had soldiers fighting for independence a quarter millennium ago, and our executive director Byron Smith will cover a dozen of them!

Departing from Capon Valley Bank (5511 Main Street), we will first go to the Old Town Cemetery, where our town’s founders are buried; then the Stone House, possibly the oldest house in town; then the Lutheran Cemetery, which has a plaque for Revolutionary War heroes; then Bell Air, once the home of some of our most prominent residents; and then we’ll pull off on Germain Street behind Stephens Landing, where some soldiers’ homes used to stand before ending at the bank again!
