Offering the Gift of Life – Join this ancient Buddhist Ritual of Generosity in Nature
We invite you to leave behind the noise, heat, and rush of the city, and step into the cool, peaceful beauty of Schlosspark Gauting for a special experience you don’t come across often.
At the Tshethar Ritual, animals facing death – in this case, fish – are given the gift of life.
The White Lama Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche will recite traditional mantras and dharanis to support the life force of the animals and everyone taking part. Afterwards the fish are released into the flowing river to start their new lives in freedom.
The ritual takes place just a short trip from Munich – by car or S-Bahn. Right in the heart of Schlosspark, surrounded by the shade of old trees and the gentle sounds of the Würm river. From Gauting station, it’s a relaxed 15-minute walk through the charming town center.
You don’t need any previous knowledge about Buddhism or the ritual. A genuine interest and respect for this ancient transmission and the holder of this wisdom tradition entitles you to take part.
Also, children are very welcome to attend. The ritual is a great opportunity for little as well as grown-up humans to experience their connection to nature.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
