The attacks on our immigrant communities are escalating, but so is our determination to build people power! We’re seeing ICE kidnap people from our communities and disappear them to foreign prisons. Our CT Elected officials MUST stand on the right side of history.
Join us for a Community Immigration Forum in Stamford where we will hear from community members, elected officials, and allies on why protecting and extending HUSKY for Immigrants and passing the TRUST Act are key actions CT can take to protect immigrant communities, and how YOU can take immediate action in support of our immigrant community members.
🔵 When: Sunday, May 18th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm
🔵 Where: Unitarian Universalist Congregation | 20 Forest St, Stamford, CT 06901

Connecticut has made remarkable progress - In the last 4 years, the HUSKY for Immigrants coalition successfully expanded HUSKY coverage to over 19,000 undocumented children ages 0-15 and to undocumented pregnant people. We cannot let CT move backward.
What are we fighting for?
🗣️ Protect our progress and maintain HUSKY Medicaid coverage for undocumented children age 15 and under, and pregnant individuals.
🗣️ Raise the age for HUSKY eligibility up to age 26, for all income-eligible residents regardless of immigration status.
🗣️ Pass the TRUST Act (HB 7212), a bill that would protect our CT immigrant community from ICE abductions and protect CT local resources from being used to further mass deportations.
Stamford is and must continue to be a welcoming place for all our residents, where all of us, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, and immigration status, can feel safe!!
*Sponsoring organizations of the event include: the HUSKY 4 Immigrants Coalition, TRUST Act, NOW Coalition, 32BJ, Social Justice Committee of the UU Congregation in Stamford, UPSS - United Parents For Students Sucesss, Interfaith Council of Southwestern Connecticut, Stamford Indivisible, Comunidades Sin Frontreras, UPASS, Nosotr@s, and other local organizations. *
