Do you have a favorite garment that’s starting to wear out, or perhaps a beloved piece you can’t find a pattern for? This workshop is the perfect opportunity to recreate your favorite items by learning how to trace a pattern directly from your garment!
Bring along a simple piece of clothing you love, and we’ll show you how to carefully trace it into a paper pattern. You’ll gain valuable insights into garment construction as we copy the individual panels, and by the end of the session, you’ll leave with a pattern that you can use to make a replica of your favorite garment.
As one of our happy customers said: “Absolutely brilliant. Never would have worked out this method of copying an item of clothing. I’m off to practice. Excellent, patient tuition.” – Jenny
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Identify the different panels in the garment
Find the grainline for proper fabric alignment
Drape fabric to replicate each panel
Mark seams, darts, gathers, and other details
Trace fabric panels onto pattern paper
Add markings like notches, darts, and more
Add seam allowances for proper fit
Prepare your pattern for cutting out and future use
This hands-on session will boost your pattern-making skills and give you the tools to recreate your favorite garments with confidence. Don’t miss out—book your spot today and learn how to make your wardrobe even more personal and unique!
