Event Length: 6pm – 8pm, on Saturday June 28th
Description: This event marks the second in a series for visual artists, covering topics pertinent to career paths and goals, finding inspiration, building portfolios, approaching galleries and so much more. In this iteration of the workshop, you are invited to listen and learn from professionals in the field of Visual Arts discuss their work, what motivates them, how they create their work, and what tips they have for young artists starting out in the field. This is a free event but we welcome cash donations to help cover the hors d’oeuvres provided. Guests will have ample time to ask questions and request future topics to be covered.
We welcome the following speakers/artists this evening:
Pete Morelewicz– a printmaker, illustrator, and designer. He creates paintings, posters, murals, illustrations, greeting cards, packaging, and whatever else may present itself.
Tanya Green – an oil painter and muralist inspired by the unnoticed objects found in a familiar world
Coorain Devin – an interdisciplinary artist, such as performances, photographs, and objects, often textiles, that discuss the joys and horrors of consumer culture.
Lori Pikkaart – an Oil painter inspired by nature, specializing in animals with a background in digital and print marketing, graphic design, editing and writing.
Age Limitations: Ages 16 through adult. This is a great event to attend as a high school senior interested in a visual arts degree or a college student coming out with a BA or BFA in the arts, or anyone interested in the arts or artists speaking about their work!
