A Concert for Lent

Free concert – beautiful music for Lent – at Glossop Parish Church SK13 7RU – on Sunday 1 March at 4pm. The centrepiece of this concert is Pergolesi’s deeply moving Stabat Mater, one of his best known works. A series of duets for solo soprano and alto, the work tells the story of the crucifixion from a mother’s perspective, in Mary’s voice. If glorious harmonies and powerful, meaningful music are your thing this will be right up your street! There will also be solo piano works by Bach, plus tea and cake after the concert.
