So, a couple of months ago, after a Monday night Hymntap, a couple of us Fleshpots just kept on playing tunes... ones we had written and some of the old favorites we wanted to share with each other. And, wouldn't you know it, a little crowd formed and we kept singing and playing and diving deep into the repertoire we rarely play at Hymntap.
They seemed to enjoy it. Or they were being Minnesota Nice. But it somehow compelled Ricky, the best bartender in the world, to ask if we would like to play a gig on a different night.
Say, a Friday in August.
We looked at each other, said, 'why not?' and here we are. Bringing some of our favorite tunes – the ones which have influenced each of us over the years – back to the Dubliner on Friday night, August 15. We'll play a little Beatles, maybe some Cars, Prince, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Jerry Jeff Walker, John Prine, who knows? And since we are Fleshpots, who knows what'll happen when we start pluckin' the strings and shaping the harmonies.
It might be good. It might not. But it will be even better if you join us.
Hope to see you there.
