About the event

The Longest Night

While Christmas is often a time of joy and celebration, it can also be a season of pain and hurt. Our Longest Night service, observed on the longest night of the calendar year, creates space to acknowledge that God is with us in the midst of our brokenness. Lighted candles bring a sense of hope and remembrance. This community service is hosted jointly by St. Matthews UMC and Beargrass Christian Church.
