Sound Arts Initiatives is proud to present ONSOUND IV: what is jazz? July 16-19, 2025. Showcasing some of the most innovative and boundary-pushing artists from across Canada and right here at home.

Night two of the festival brings the experimental saxophone and electronics of local visionary Greg Bruce, and Lina Allemano Four’s triumphant return to St. John’s, performing the original compositions of trumpeter Lina Allemano (with Nick Fraser, drums; Andrew Downing, bass; Brodie West, saxophone). Hailed as one of Canada’s leading cutting-edge ensembles, they are known internationally for their inventiveness, playfulness, and synergy as they deftly blur the line between composition and improvisation.
