International Lifeguard Appreciation Day is celebrated on July 31st each year. This day honors the dedicated lifeguards who ensure safety at beaches, pools, and water parks. Lifeguards perform essential roles, including preventing accidents by monitoring swimmers, providing first aid, and responding to life-threatening emergencies when duty calls.
Please join us on Thursday, July 31st, at 1 PM for a friendly competition between our residents vs the lifeguards at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center.
Activities include:
- Volleyball with a twist
- Do you think you're faster than a lifeguard race?
- Tube Relays
- Cannonball contests
- Cardboard boat regatta
- And a huge inflatable water obstacle course
Normal admission is required to enter the facility, but anyone can participate and play!
If competition is not your thing, you can show appreciation by leaving a message for a guard or two on our gratitude wall.
The best way to show your appreciation to a lifeguard is to follow the facility rules, keep an eye on your children or weak swimmers, and willingly follow lifeguard instructions.
Come have some fun in the sun with us!
