Matt Chatterley grew up in both Orem, Utah, and Austin, Texas. He studied art at BYU, earning a bachelor’s degree in art and design and a master’s degree in painting and drawing. While at BYU, he learned watercolor from Robert Marshall and Glen Turner, and oil painting from several well-known artists. After college, Matt worked for 20 years in the newspaper industry—first as a graphic artist at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix, then as art director at the Des Moines Register in Iowa. Along with working as a graphic artist, illustrator, and designer, Matt continues to create and show his artwork. He mostly paints landscapes but also enjoys painting people and still life scenes.
