Springfield Bridge to Prosperity Celebration

Join us on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the TD Bank Building for a special celebration marking the official launch of the Bridge to Prosperity (B2P) program—a transformative pilot initiative helping working families chart a sustainable path to economic independence. This event is hosted by United Way of Pioneer Valley and Springfield WORKS.

The Bridge to Prosperity program provides direct cash assistance to individuals who are at risk of losing public benefits as their earned income increases. This initiative fills the gap created by the "cliff effect", ensuring that hard-working residents don’t fall backward as they strive to move forward. The program is currently supporting seven Western Massachusetts residents, primarily employed in healthcare and education, with plans to expand and serve dozens more in the near future.

Developed through a powerful collaboration between Springfield WORKS, United Way of Pioneer Valley, and Baystate Health, and seed funded by the Massachusetts State Legislature, B2P is not only a lifeline for individuals—it’s a bold, data-informed step toward creating more equitable economic mobility across our region.

This one-hour event will include remarks from local policymakers, input from current pilot participants on their experiences, and will set the stage for future growth and partnership. Community leaders, policymakers, employers, and stakeholders in workforce development and social equity are warmly invited to join us in recognizing this important milestone.
