Rolling Green Park Restoration Project

BE PART OF THE TRANSFORMATION! We have multiple restoration events planned this Spring and Summer. These projects promote biodiversity by offering food and habitat to wildlife, reducing flooding and erosion, improving water quality, and providing access to high-quality natural space in our community.

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS WELCOME: We can't do it without your help. These projects require minimal equipment and zero knowledge. Our trained staff will work with you every step of the way.

PROJECT 1: ROLLING GREEN PARK
Our goal is to convert over an acre of Japanese knotweed infestation into a healthy diverse habitat filled with native trees and plants. This project will involve 25-30 volunteers over 1-3 days to:
- Remove invasive knotweed
- Sow a native seed mix and cover it with straw to prevent herbivory and washout
- Plant and cage trees and shrubs for protection

WHAT TO BRING
- Sturdy shoes or boots
- Gloves (we’ll have extras)
- Gardening tools, if available
- Long sleeves and pants recommended
- Your enthusiasm for the outdoors and local conservation!
