Retirees Celebrate Labor Day!

On Friday, August 29th, the Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans is heading to the IL AFL CIO in Springfield to celebrate Labor Day with retirees and we invite you to join us!

We will hear from guest speakers on the importance of retiree leadership in the labor movement and a Mother Jones re-enactor will join us to talk about her life as an organizer well past "retirement age".

Historical re-enactor, Loretta Williams, began portraying Mother Jones in 2017. This portrayal has been taken to Cork, Ireland, the birthplace of Mother Jones and regularly to Mt. Olive, Illinois where she is buried. Upon request “Mother” appears at Labor Unions, civic and community events across the United States
