Wendy Jo our Featherweight Specialist will be teaching you the how to’s and the skills to maintain and service your Singer Featherweight 221. In this workshop you will leave feeling confident in servicing your own machine. Saving you money down the road.

Oiling & Lubricating
Tension Adjustments
Stitch Formation
Basic oiling is important, but proper care and servicing of your Featherweight requires so much more. Wendy Jo, our Featherweight Specialist, will teach participants how to give their machines the standard service – regularly! The Workshop more than pays for itself because you won’t have to pay for routine maintenance ever again! You can do it!
No prior machine mechanical knowledge is necessary, so you needn’t worry about having maintenance experience.

If your machine has been serviced in the last 6 months then a
Refill Tune Up Kit is required to be purchased. Regular price is $58.39 *class workshop price $49.99
With purchase of the Refill Kit, it is assumed that you already have the original Complete Tune-up Kit for proper grease, oil, cleaning brush, servicing guide, etc. If you have never serviced your machine yourself, then the Refill Kit will not be complete enough and you will need to purchase the Complete Tune-up Kit here first.

Old bath towel (this will get greasy)
Bright flashlight
Two (2) spools of quality cotton thread of two different colors
(Gutermann, Essential Threads, etc.)
Small Scissors *Optional Items
Rubber Gloves (if hands are sensitive to kerosene or oils) (the store will have these on hand)
Tablet and Writing Pen (to take notes)
Apron (the shop will provide these)
Thread-O-Stat Thread Grabber for removing thread from small areas (tweezers)
Magnetic Bowl to keep your small parts from getting lost (the shop will have these available to purchase)
** Machines that require actual repair will not be suitable for the Basic Workshop. If you need assistance with Singer Featherweight repair, please contact Wendy Jo with questions ahead of time. 931-378-2585
It may be something simple that can be remedied on your machine, but if it is anything major, please bring a different Featherweight to use and learn basic maintenance during class.
*Screw divers are essential to maintain and service your machine. The shop will be using their Wera screw driver set to assist with your hands on maintenance workshop. Screw driver kits are not required to purchase. If you desire to have your own set, they can be ordered through the shop in advanced if desired.
