We need your help!
We’re getting ready to transform our basement into a much-needed support space for our café operations and our beloved cats. Over the past year, we've focused on recovery and rebuilding, and now we're taking the next big step: clearing out the basement so we can fully reopen our fourth café room and bring our original vision to life.
While we don’t plan to let cats roam downstairs just yet, turning the basement into a clean and functional storage area will free up the space we need upstairs. That means more room for cats, guests, and all the cozy magic you’ve come to expect.
But first, the basement needs to be swept, cleaned, and cleared of debris. We’re also looking to connect with professionals who can assist with issues like electrical work and help us install a door to safely separate the utility area. If you or someone you know has experience in trades or building work, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll kick things off with a walkthrough on Sunday, August 3rd, then invite volunteers to join us for evening cleanup sessions the rest of the week from 5:00 to 6:00 PM (or later, if the spirit moves us!). We’ll have drinks and snacks on hand to keep everyone fueled. Also, donations of storage shelves, heavy-duty trash bags, or help getting a dumpster for trash would mean the world.
Whether you can swing by for one day or show up all week, we’d love to have you. Every bit of help brings us closer to creating the safe, expanded space our café cats deserve.
