Beyond the Beat - Hip Hop Songwriting Workshop with Dumi Right

Dumi Right will engage participants with interactive exercises and activities to unlock their creativity, boost confidence and promote quick and innovative thinking. Participants will learn about creative writing using Hip Hop, rhymes, poetry and ultimately songs made over beats.

Dumi Right is an award winning songwriter and performance artist and cultural ambassador. He currently leads a Hip Hop Ensemble in the music department at George Washington University. He is a credited songwriter on a 2019 Latin Grammy Award winning album in addition to Washington Area Music awards and nominations, and a winning performance at the SXSW Music Festival Pitch & Flow Contest.
