Nothing says “Come on Home” like a pat of butter! Everything is better with butter. June is Dairy month and what better way to celebrate all our dairy farmers than with a Butter Carving Contest! You will be given a one-pound block of butter to carve and shape into a milk carton, Swiss cheese, or a glass milk bottle.

Ribbons and prizes will be awarded for both youth and
adult categories with a rosette for the champion sculptures.
Youth 16 yrs and younger
Adult 17 yrs and older
Registration will be onsite. Limit of 10 spaces per age group.
Check-in at Exhibition Hall. If contestants are minors, parents must be present during the competition but not allowed in the competition area during the contest.

Wisconsin’s Alice in Dairyland will judge both contests and award the placings following the contest completion.
Each contestant will have 2 feet of table space to work within. This area will be set up in Exhibition Hall and marked prior to the contest.
Washburn County Fair will provide: 1# block of butter, plastic cutlery (one each; fork, knife and spoon) string, paper clip and paper towels.
You can choose to make either a milk carton, Swiss cheese or a glass milk bottle.
All sculptures will be judged based on creativity, detail and design.
