Join us for a full day of creativity inspired by the hedgerow! You’ll enjoy four artist-led taster workshops (each one hour long), designed to give you a feel for the techniques and ideas explored in our full-length sessions.
It’s the perfect chance to experiment, play, and learn something new—all in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
✨ This year’s workshops include:
Kelly Moore - Ceramic Seed Pod
In this engaging one-hour workshop, you’ll create a beautiful ceramic poppy seed head using the pinch pot technique, shaping and sculpting by hand to bring your piece to life! You'll explore texture through mark-making with a variety of tools, adding unique details to your design. You'll also learn how to apply red iron oxide, which will interact with the glaze to create an organic finish. Please note: your piece will need to be fired twice, so it will be ready for collection within four weeks, or we can post it to you for a small fee.
Lee, Finch and Toad Upholstery - Hedgerow Lampshade
During this session, you will learn how to make a professionally finished, modern drum lampshade for your home. The frame, lining and fabric for your 20cm lampshade will be supplied as well as all the materials and tools.We will be using Iliv hedgerow fabric. There are 3 different colourways to choose from on the day.
Gillian Wing - Origami Book Fold
These folds have long been used to conveniently house town maps. They lend themselves to being combined into interesting 3D shapes or being used individually as gift tags or cards. You will choose papers from a wide selection, make the folds and have the option of making and attaching decorative book covers.
Joanna Banks - Hedgerow Still Life Photography
Hedgerow Still Life Photography Workshop! Arrange your own composition, and learn to capture stunning images. Bring a camera or phone—everything else is provided. Includes a small print of your work with optional edits. Perfect for all skill levels.
