Jason Clarke will run his 10 week Portrait Drawing Course from Monday July 14th to September 15th, 2025.
Almost every week, you will focus on how to draw a specific element of the face. Jason will demonstrate drawings using the whiteboard, one-to-one, and through group observation. He will also give you plenty of reference handouts to use throughout each class.
Students who took his course previously appreciated how he could easily tailor his teaching to each individual. What makes sense to one person doesn't always make sense to their neighbour! But Jason is adaptable and passionate about drawing, so you're in good hands. We've also included the option to experiment with colour, and draw your own choice of portrait.
This is the best opportunity to put all of your learning into a final portrait drawing toward the end of your course. Bring along family photos, your favourite celebrity image, or anyone you want! Jason will show you how to draw them realistically.
This course is for beginners, but he's taught students with experience too. Some students love gaining a revision or a boost to their artistic confidence through a course such as this.

CLASSES:
Classes will run on Monday morning (9:30am -12:00pm) and Monday evening (6:30pm -9:00pm). You only need to attend once a week.
FEE: The full course fee is $647, with partial payment available.
MATERIALS:
You will need to bring along some materials:
An A3 sized art diary (good quality pad at least 110gsm)
- HB, 2B, 4B, 6B pencils
- Putty eraser (also known as a kneadable eraser)
- Hard white eraser
- Sharpener
