Andamooka on the Gold Coast

Festival hit Andamooka is playing Dendy Southport for one night only on Sunday 20th July, 6pm.

An honest picture of womanhood. On the precipice of turning 30, Alex finds her whole life falling apart before her eyes. Seeking a glimmer of hope for her birthday, she retreats to Andamooka, a secluded opal mining town, to find comfort with her best friend. Set against the breathtaking landscape of remote Western Queensland, Northern Territory, and South Australia, Alex is afforded the freedom to be as raw and unguarded as she needs, reflecting on life’s disappointments while immersing herself in the magic of the outback.

Andamooka has screened at nine film festivals in Australia since September last year, as well as London earlier this year and Barcelona to come. This is a select cinema run, one night only opportunity to see the film on the big screen.

The film was shot by just three crew for two months across 7000km in the Australian outback. A microbudget indie feat, and a story that everyone can relate to.
