Christopher Nolan presents this first feature in 20 years by animation masters The Quay Brothers, a mind-altering mixture of live action and breathtakingly intricate stop-motion puppetry. Inspired by the stories of Polish author Bruno Schulz (whose tale Street of Crocodiles the Quays previously adapted), the film follows the journey of Josef, who arrives at a labyrinthine sanatorium in search of his dying father. Told in seven chapters corresponding with seven prophetic, mystical viewing lenses, the film bends objects, time, and dimensions as Josef navigates the realm between dreams and reality.

Each month, DRAWN VISIONS presents an outré gem from the wild, wonderful world of animation. Focusing on the strange, the underseen, and the unclassifiable, this series proves cartoons aren’t just for kids, they’re for total freaks too!
