Building Resilience with Herbal Sensory Experiencing

Join clinical herbalist, Mel Kasting, for a 3-hour, hands-on intensive exploring how herbs and somatic practices can support the nervous system and build lasting resilience. We’ll begin with a brief look at nervous system physiology and the stress response, then explore the many factors—biological, physical, social, and experiential—that shape how we respond to stress.

From there, we’ll dive into herbs and nutrients that help regulate the nervous system and discuss how sensory herbal experiences can serve as powerful anchors for resilience and healing. You’ll taste herbs throughout the class and engage in participatory sensory exercises that deepen your connection to plant allies and your own internal cues.

The class culminates in a blind somatic experiencing practice, where you’ll lean into the wisdom of your body to create a calming blend tailored to your unique needs. You’ll leave with extensive notes, practical tools, and a fresh perspective on how herbalism and sensory awareness can support you in navigating stress with more ease.
