The Gardening Guru presents: Fungi of Michigan

Did you know that fungi have a kingdom of their own? Come and learn about these intriguing organisms. The program will cover topics such as:
1. Introduction to the fungi kingdom
2. Foraging tips and sustainability
3. Fungi identification and safety
4. Discuss specific Michigan species throughout the seasons
The presentation will reference curated fungi samples.

Lorenzo Lo Piccolo has been foraging and studying fungi since the early 2000s. His special interest is in understanding the relationships between fungi and other organisms; especially trees. He holds a Wild Mushrooms Foraging Certification from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. He follows closely mycological developments through the country and the world.
