Live at The 1865
Formed in Valencia, Spain in 2023, THE COST brings together a powerhouse trio: drummer El Estepario Siberiano, bassist Chris Attwell, and guitarist/vocalist Peter Connolly.
The band was born at their producer’s acclaimed recording studio, where Chris and Peter — both graduates of the Berklee College of Music in Valencia — were recording as part of a jazz band. El Estepario Siberiano, hearing them through the studio’s thin walls, was immediately struck by their musicality. As he puts it:
“They have a jazzy style, but if they just added some gain to what they were doing, it could be metal.”
Intrigued by this idea, he invited them to experiment — to take their jazz-inflected sound and push it through the lens of heavy distortion. The result is the band’s explosive debut album, Doppler Affection.
Blending diverse musical backgrounds and cultures, THE COST creates an epic sonic identity defined by technical prowess, haunting melodies, anthemic choruses, brutal breakdowns, and soaring vocals.
Their debut single “Not For Me” has racked up over 6 million streams and views across all platforms, earning airplay on SiriusXM Octane. Follow-up singles “Into The Drone” and “Her Eyes” — the latter featuring Serj Tankian of System of a Down — have also amassed millions of streams and global acclaim.
Released on 29 March 2025, Doppler Affection soared to #1 on the iTunes Albums Chart in its debut week.
Following a stunning live debut at Comendatio Festival (Portugal) and an appearance at Leyendas Del Rock (Spain) this summer, THE COST is now gearing up for their first full headline tour — details coming soon.
