On the 2nd & 3rd August, the ELMR is playing host to a celebration of Neil & Barbara Simkins' contribution to the world of miniature steam engines.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a unique gathering of some of their favourite locomotives in one place.
To add to the magic of the occasion, this event is going to be a complete surprise to both Neil & Barbara, so for those privileged enough to know and see them, please keep this one under your hat!
An intensive gala timetable will be in operation all weekend, featuring special trains such as our Lakes Express service, Parallel Runs and more!
The planned locomotive line up is scheduled to be:
- EAR 59 Garratt ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’
- Darjeeling B Class No.784 ‘Kanchenjunga’.
- Chapelon Nord Pacific 31.192
- GWR Saint Class 2914 'Saint Augustine'
- Leek and Manifold Tank No.1 ‘E.R. Calthrop’
- Highland Railway L Class "Skye Bogie" No.79
- Great Central 8K Class 2-8-0 - No. 102
And, off the rails and on the road instead... Neil's 7nhp 6” Foster Agricultural!
