Want to find out more about nature, whilst doing some light physical activity?
Come in and join us for our monthly Friday task day on the last Sunday of the month.
No previous experience is necessary. We'll take you through what we are doing, and why we are doing it, and how to do it safely.
This month, our conservation tasks are going to be:
- Path widening: Cutting back the overgrown brambles that stop people using the paths.
- Invasive species: Balsam pulling across the local area
- Invasive species: Japanese Knot W**d is starting to come up. Let's stop it getting out of hand.
- Bramble removal - in our wildflower area we have a small copse that shouldn't be there. We manage this by controlling the tree growth and removing the brambles. Come find out why our management plan says this area needs to return to grass.
- Litter picking: The less litter there is the less likely people are to drop it!
The reserve is run by our wonderful team of volunteers. We would not be able to manage without your help, and every act makes the site better. We appreciate all of you.
Our Study Centre has toilets that will be open for use.
Our tasks are always open to non-members, but if you would like to help support Sholing Valleys financially and become a member, it's very easy to join. Just follow the link below:
