Improv Drop-In

Let's explore using Improv to laugh and create (sometimes very short!) stories together.

This week's tagline is "Begin as You Mean to Go On". How does a scene come from (apparently) nothing? We will explore how to start scenes so that you can be confident in creating stories together.

Most importantly, we will discover fun approaches to making each other laugh! Even if you've never told a joke or stepped onto a stage. We welcome all levels from beginners to seasoned improvisers, and help you discover fun and playful games. We can (almost) guarantee that everyone will have a lot of fun!

What is Improv? It's a set of skills that anyone can learn for creating in a supportive, collaborative fashion - no one person has to do all the work: nor should they!

You'll be amazed at how easily you'll build worlds together and make new friends.

Things to remember:

• You can do this - most of your daily life is unscripted!
• The whole drop-in is one team - no heckling - only support
• You don't have to ever do this in public
• You can ALWAYS opt out of any scene or activity or topic - we've got your back.

Info: Some silly activities to get you in a playful state and remind you that you are creative. Could include trying to clap at the same time as someone or word-association. (It doesn't matter how good you are at those things)

Info: These could be games that might happen in a show like "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Or scenes with a particular focus like making scenario clear. We are learning how to make stuff up in future and getting a feeling for what works.
