Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
We invite you to join us in celebrating this beautiful Solemnity:
Thursday, August 14 – 7:00 PM (Vigil Mass)
Friday, August 15 – 9:00 AM (Feast Day Mass)
The Feast of the Assumption commemorates the moment when the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was taken body and soul into heavenly glory. This dogma, solemnly defined by Pope Pius XII in 1950, is deeply rooted in the Church’s ancient belief that Mary, being without sin and the Mother of God, would not see the corruption of the grave.
The Assumption is more than just about Mary—it’s about our hope in Christ. In Mary, we see the promise of our own resurrection and eternal life. Her Assumption is a sign of what God desires for all who follow Him: to be with Him forever in heaven, body and soul.
As a Holy Day of Obligation, the Church calls all Catholics to attend Mass, giving thanks for the gift of our Blessed Mother and the hope she represents for us.
Come celebrate with us and honor Mary, who always points us to her Son, Jesus Christ.
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” – Luke 1:46
