Join us for a heartfelt literary evening with Eve Imagine as she shares Body in Script, her powerful debut novel told in interconnected stories. Set against the backdrop of 1990s Northern California, the book follows Chava Wiseman—a young woman whose promising post-college life takes a dramatic turn after a near-fatal illness triggers a lifelong battle with anorexia and trauma. As Chava and her partner Stephen rebuild a condemned home together, they also begin the slow, steady work of emotional and physical healing.

Body in Script is a novel about the body, love, memory, and endurance—narrated with raw honesty and poetic beauty. Each chapter begins with an original illustration by the author’s husband, S. Paul Imagine, giving visual life to their two-decade journey together.

Eve will read selections from the book, discuss her creative and personal inspirations, and sign copies.

A long-time Sacramento-based English professor and lifelong writer, Eve Imagine brings a voice shaped by resilience, intellect, and artistry.

Books will be available for purchase at the event.
