The Unity in Community/South Hill, VA committee met recently for another planning meeting to continue to move forward with an August 19 vendor session at 5:30 at the R. T. Arnold Library to finalize plans for the September 25th Resource Fair to be held at First Christian School Gym from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
They invite churches, civic organizations, and any group or business that offers a service to those in need to come
with thoughts, ideas, applications and information
for our collaborative effort to put the resources out into the
community for those who are struggling in some way and need to be pointed in the right direction to get the help they may need. If you attended a previous event and received a survey form, please fill it out and return.
We will also be adding to the directory and links to Facebook pages to make it all easily accessible. We are creating a “Unity in Community Resource Manual” with information about providers. It serves three purposes:
1. Helps providers understand each other’s service offerings so providers can connect and work together to better meet the needs of the community;
2. Helps community members in need understand where to go for help; and
3. Helps community members find worthwhile volunteer opportunities.
Kingdom Warriors will have hot dogs, chips and drinks on Sept. 25th and the group will collect for the Bread Box if you want to bring a nonperishable item.
Great things can happen when those with servant hearts bring their thoughts, ideas and talents to the room to help South Hill Unity in Community grow as they move forward to build the
foundation of this effort one step, one group, one person, and one heart at a time. Please join us by contacting Lisa Clary (434) 447-9458, Rachel Brown, Amber Purdy Thomas or Bette L. Bottoms or you may email

They look forward to having you and if you were at previous meetings, they invite you back for the August one to plan for the September 25th event to meet the community. The doors will be open for the public to stop by to see what resources are available to help those in need of various services. Unity in Community wants to have the answers, info and people on hand for you. Follow Unity in Community/South
