Sunday July 13th walk

Meet at Scout Hut car park - grid reference : SX 577673

Leader : Stephen Holley and Clive Barnes

The main feature of this walk is the small but interesting Kit Mine. Remains at the mine consist of a well-built wheelhouse, buddles and associated building. The remains date to the early 20th century when the mine was worked by Kit Tin Mines Ltd.

We will also look at the workings on Ringmore Down and visit the remains of Yellowmead Blowing House known to be in operation in 1502 and 1727.

The walk is partly across moorland with rough ground and some gradients. The walk also involves crossing a stream which will require wellies. The distance of the walk is approximately 4 miles.
