About the event

Insights in History – The “Mighty Fitz”: 50 Years Later
The Great Lakes are the largest collection of freshwater on Earth - they are beautiful and support all kinds of water sports; however, they hide a dark secret. Since the first boats were placed on the Great Lakes’ waters, there have been wrecks. The best known of around 6,000 shipwrecks is the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior, which happened on November 10, 1975. Come learn how the “Mighty Fitz’s” sinking affected shipping throughout the Great Lakes region.

Our Insights in History speaker series begin at 1:30 p.m. Reservations are required two days prior to the event; attendance is limited. Please call 574.235.9664 ext. 6256.
Admission is $3/general, $1/members. Refreshments will be offered.
