About the event

21st Annual South Lyon Area Creek Cleanup and Earth Day Event
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS! YOU ARE INVITED!

The 21st Annual South Lyon Area Creek Cleanup and Earth Day Event will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM. Lunch at Noon with Toarmina’s Pizza South Lyon. Volunteers will meet at 400 McMunn Street, at the Michigan Seamless Tube and Pipe Company Truck Parking Lot, South Lyon, MI 48178.

Rain or Shine. To conserve and protect our waterways, volunteers will safely remove trash and debris from South Lyon Area creeks, streams, and waterways. Areas include the City of South Lyon, Lyon Township, and Green Oak Township waterways.

Please wear a bright long sleeve shirt, long pants, gloves, and rubber boots. Safety vests and gloves will be available for your protection. Trucks and trailers are needed to haul trash to dumpster. For event trash only. Tires are prohibited in the dumpster and will be disposed of in the proper manner.

Waterways we will clean are all within the Huron River Watershed. Clean and free flowing water, including stormwater, leads to the Huron River through storm drainage systems, and reduces the possibility of flooding area streets, residences and businesses. Your assistance with this project will help maintain the safety, health, and beauty of our communities.
