Join us on Monday, May 5th from 6–8 PM for the opening reception to Abstract Explosions, a vibrant showcase of mixed media abstract artwork by Megan Leal-Gring at BFF Tahoe.

Megan’s work captures the textures and energy of nature—evoking lava flows, petrified wood, satellite imagery, and more. Her unique process layers acrylics on wood panels with high-gloss resin finishes and 3D resin sculptures, creating bold and mesmerizing visual experiences.

Megan Leal-Gring was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe. After earning her B.A. from CSU Monterey Bay, she moved to Santa Barbara where she discovered her passion for painting. A self-taught artist, Megan began creating abstract acrylic paintings in 2011 and launched her professional art career in 2013. She now works out of her Lompoc studio, continuing to push boundaries with her signature style combining acrylics, epoxy resin, and 3D resin sculptures.

Her work has been showcased in solo exhibitions, including her 2014 show at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum which inspired the name of her company, Abstract Explosions.
