Merced Ave Greenway: Bike & Boats "a three-hour tour"

Join ActiveSGV for a family friendly “ a three-hour tour” of the Merced Ave Greenway Project and Legg Lake! The Merced Ave Greenway project aims to demonstrate how street design can combat rising temperatures, increase pedestrian and bicyclist safety, and improve local water quality.

This is a family friendly ride. The ride will start and end at Mary Van Dyke Park. The route is 4.5 miles long, with a 1 hour break halfway at Whittier Narrows Recreational Area. We have rented a limited number of pedal boats at Legg Lake and ride participants will have access to a FREE 30min pedal boat rental. Please note that most pedal boats seat 4, so you may have to ride with a new friend or 2. We encourage you to pack a picnic or snacks.

Start/End: Mary Van Dyke Park 1(819 Central Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733)

Route: 4.5 miles with 55ft of elevation gain

Experience Level: Beginner

What to Bring:

• A helmet is required if under 18
• A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears)
• Additional cash/credit to purchase food
• Water Bottle filled with water!
• Bikes with training wheels are not permitted, but children are welcome to attend if pulled in a trailer or on-bike child seat.

• Pre-registration is required for ALL participants (including family members).

• All participants must sign a waiver. A parent/guardian must sign for minors.
• Rain Policy: We will contact you 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel the ride in case of rain.

Parking: Plenty of on-street parking is aviable but be mindful of parking restrictions
