There will be an ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) training on May 8 & 9 from 8:00am - 4:00pm at Adventist Health Sonora in Conference Rooms 1&2.
WHAT IS ASIST?
LivingWorks ASIST is an evidence-based award-winning two-day interactive workshop that prepares caregivers to provide a life-assisting suicide first-aid intervention using the Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) model.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Although many professional caregivers use LivingWorks ASIST, anyone 16 or older (including family members, friends, or concerned citizens) can learn the life-saving skills to assist someone with thoughts of suicide. We recommend that anyone who has experienced a recent suicide loss wait a minimum of one year before enrolling in an ASIST workshop.
WHAT ARE THE LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THE ASIST WORKSHOP?
LivingWorks ASIST participants will be able to:
Identify people who have thoughts of suicide,
Understand how attitudes and beliefs can affect suicide interventions,
Listen to the story of a person with thoughts of suicide and recognize turning points that connect that person to life,
Conduct a safety assessment, develop a SafePlan, and confirm the safety actions to be done.
HOW DO I REGISTER TO ATTEND?
Scan the QR code on the attached ASIST flyer or register on the YES Partnership website at yespartnership.net/asist
