Governor, John Winthrop, while acknowledging the complex narratives of Indigenous peoples and Black Africans impacted by historical events.

Morning Star Singers: An Indigenous drum group that brings the cultural significance of the area's first peoples to life.
Anna-Celestrya Carr: an Indigenous Dancer.
De Ama Battle's African Music and Dance Group: an arts educator and the founder of the Art of Black Dance and Music, Inc. (ABDM).
Since 1975 her company has sought to unify people of African descent “through the study of African-rooted dance, music, and folklore” to highlight “cultural similarities within the African Diaspora.”
Aimee Ledwell: Creating a community art project inspired by the Mystic River.
