The extraordinary songwriting and unforgettable voice of Amythyst Kiah, cofounder of supergroup Our Native Daughters alongside Rhiannon Giddens, merge revelatory storytelling with a darkly cinematic twist on rootsy alt-rock and old-time music. Her sonic palette encompasses everything from fuzzed-out guitars and industrial beats to gilded pedal steel and exquisite banjo work. Exploring the struggle and joy of self-discovery, Kiah leaves listeners “with the feeling that it’s okay to go off the beaten path and to structure life in a way that feels right to you.”
