Cooking and Baking for Ages 8+
Hi, I’m Beth Schultz – a retired teacher and tutor with a passion for cooking, baking, and teaching kids to feel at home in the kitchen. I’m offering small, cosy classes for kids aged 8 and up, with just four spaces in each session to make sure everyone gets plenty of attention and encouragement.
This term, classes are two hours each and are taking place every second week starting 1 May. You can choose from:
• Thursday afternoons, 3–5pm
• Friday mornings, 9–11am (perfect if you’re homeschooling):
1 & 2 May
15 & 16 May
29 & 30 May
12 & 13 June
26 & 27 June
During our lessons we’ll be learning essential skills such as:
1. Food preparation: grating, dicing, slicing, chopping, peeling, skinning.
2. Flavouring: Marinating, seasoning, using herbs & garlic, making stock,
3. Boiling, simmering, pan frying, grilling, stir-frying, baking, roasting, steaming
4. Baking: sifting, whisking, beating, folding, separating eggs, creaming.
Each lesson children will either cook or bake at least one dish which they can take home or eat.
My classes are all about making cooking fun, team-work, building confidence, and becoming comfortable with basic techniques. Whether your child is brand new to the kitchen or already loves to cook, they’ll learn skills to last a lifetime – and have a great time doing it!
