Our expert speakers will cover everything you need to know in an engaging and interactive setting. We will discuss how solar is the cornerstone for EV Charging, building electrification, and energy efficiency upgrades.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to implement solar while the IRS Gift Cards are still being handed out in the form of the Investment Tax Credit! Likely to be gone in 2026. The incentives govern not just solar but energy efficiency, heat pumps and building electrification.
This workshop is for you if you've been on the fence about solar for your building, rental or home. Solar is transformational when coupled with batteries. It makes the building resilient. And, it allows you to minimize or even eliminate those costly Time of Use charges from 4 to 9PM. This workshop is your catalyst to complete a solar project in 2025.
Info: Welcome. The Local Energy Subcommittee of Solana Beach and its Climate and Resilience Commission.
Info: This session is for you if you own a home or a commercial building without solar. Solar is the best way to get your electric bill under control; to create a resilient building; and, to reduce your environmental footprint. We will cover the basics of finding a vendor; getting quotes; obtaining a bank loan; and, getting in the construction queue before the end of 2025!
Info: Bill Powers will address the five-year quest by the Protect Our Communities Foundation (PCF), a San Diego-based non-profit fighting for utility ratepayers, to preserve the net-metering (NEM) 2.0 rooftop solar tariff that has driven spectacular growth in rooftop solar in California. He will discuss the illusory โcost-shiftโ claim made by SDGE and other investor-owned utilities in the state to assert that rooftop solar customers gain undue economic benefits at the expense of non-solar customers. Bill will discuss the long and winding road from expert testimony in 2021 in the CA PUC NEM proceeding to high stakes oral argument before the California Supreme Court in June 2025. He will opine on possible outcomes for solar customers depending on what the CA Supreme Court decides in the NEM case. Finally, Bill will comment on current legislation, specifically AB 942, that relies on the cost-shift illusion in an attempt to reduce the value of a NEM 2.0 system when property is sold.
