Who’s invited?
Anyone with a love for Canada — old friends, new faces, and everyone in between.
Four years ago, a handful of Canadians in Sofia grabbed some blankets and snacks and decided to celebrate Canada Day together. What started as a small get-together has grown into one of our favourite annual traditions — a relaxed afternoon of good food, great company, and a little Canadian spirit.
This year, we’re keeping the cozy picnic vibe you know and love, but adding a little extra fun!
There’ll be some light games, activities, and a few surprises for both kids and adults — all very laid-back, and all about enjoying the day together.
As always, it’s a potluck picnic, so bring along a dish or drink inspired by Canada if you can — think poutine, butter tarts, Caesars, anything red and white, or just something you love.
What to expect?

🎉 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: We’re adding a few new twists this year — lighthearted fun for both kids and adults.

Kids, grandparents, long-lost cousins — the more the merrier.
🐾 𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞: Dogs, cats (on a leash?), or any well-behaved animal pals are part of the party too.
🧺 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐧𝐢𝐜 & 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞: Bring your blanket, a hammock, or just your best lounging attitude.
🎶 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Guitars, ukuleles, hand drums — if it makes music, bring it! Spontaneous jams encouraged.
