Spring Mushroom Hike

Mushroom Walk – Rescheduled
New Date: Saturday, June 21 (Originally scheduled for May 17)

Due to drier-than-normal conditions, we’ve made the decision to postpone our upcoming mushroom walk. The lack of rainfall has delayed mushroom fruiting across the region, including here at Furnace Town.

Rescheduling to June 21 allows time for improved conditions and a better chance to observe a wider variety of fungi. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you for a more fruitful walk in June.

Join Shawn for a guided hike through the Nassawango Creek Preserve, where you'll explore the world of fungi and learn the basics of mushroom hunting and identification.
After the hike, Shawn will share insights from his research on the area's rich mycodiversity, which he has been studying for several years under Dr. Wilkins at Salisbury University.

Please note, this is an educational hike, not a foraging expedition.
