A 2-Hour Yoga Workshop with Emily K & Vivian B
As we move out of winter and cross the threshold of the spring equinox, this two-hour workshop invites you into gentle yet potent spirals, movements that help release stagnation, awaken circulation, and invite fresh energy to flow.
Join Emily and Vivian, who bring a combined Katonah Yoga® and Iyengar Yoga perspective, emphasizing alignment, thoughtful body placement, and the intelligent use of props. Through precise setup and clear structure, the body is supported in a way that allows energy channels to flow more fluidly, creating both ease and vitality.
This well-rounded workshop is designed to be accessible for beginners while also offering depth and inspiration for yoga teachers looking to refine and expand their chair-based practice. Using the chair as both support and teacher, we will explore how alignment and geometry can create safety, clarity, and growth.
Expect a thoughtfully sequenced blend of:
-Chair yoga flow and accessible Hatha-style movement
-Restorative poses with and without the chair to support nervous system regulation
-Yin-inspired, longer-held poses that gently challenge the body and mind
-Breathwork to support mobility, digestion, and seasonal transition
Twisting postures, our springtime spirals, will be woven throughout the practice to support spinal mobility, stimulate digestion, and encourage a sense of internal refresh. The chair allows us to approach twists with greater accessibility and precision, deepening awareness while reducing unnecessary strain.
Rooted in a spring detox theme, this workshop honors the Equinox as a moment of balance, change, and renewal. You will leave feeling grounded, spacious, and reoriented, with practical tools you can carry into your personal practice or teaching.
No prior chair yoga experience required. All bodies welcome.
