Releasing the Psoas with Jess Padula
The psoas is a deep core muscle that connects the spine to the legs and plays a key role in posture, movement, and the body’s stress response. When it’s tight or overworked, it can contribute to low-back pain, hip tension, fatigue, and a persistent sense of holding or bracing in the body.
In this slow, supportive workshop, we’ll explore gentle yoga postures, long-held stretches, and nervous-system–calming breathwork designed to encourage the psoas to soften and release. Rather than forcing flexibility, this class emphasizes safety, awareness, and ease—creating the conditions the psoas needs to let go.
Expect a grounded, floor-based practice with plenty of props, minimal transitions, and ample time to settle into each shape. The class will move at a relaxed pace and end with a deeply restful guided relaxation to help integrate the work.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels, including beginners. It may be especially helpful for those who sit for long periods, experience hip or low-back tension, feel stress held in the body, or want to cultivate a greater sense of ease and stability.
