Are you a woman who worked for a Leitrim factory in the recent past? If so, our women’s history project want to hear from you! We want to speak to women who worked in factories of all sizes and types across Leitrim.
Did you pack jam in Laird’s jam factory, or buttons in the Western Button Factory? Did you sew clothes in Ballinamore Textiles, or make toys or jewellery in Shannon Industries?
Maybe you were a home worker for a factory – did you knit for Cyril Cullen or Sarah McGloin, or sew for Manor Hosiery?
Join us for tea and cake and share your memories of any factory work with other former workers! Come along to any of our upcoming free events below - all are very welcome! Advance booking is not necessary, but would be appreciated for catering numbers. A further date for Ballinamore in August will be announced very soon.
7pm Thursday 10th July - The Food Hub, Drumshanbo, N41 R6D7
7pm Thursday 17th July - Sexton’s House, Manorhamilton, F91 YAE6
