The Tutor

Shannon Duggan is a banjo and mandolin player from Newtowncunningham, county Donegal She started her musical journey on the mandolin at the age of ten then progressed onto the banjo at the age of fourteen.Her musical influences includes banjo players such as Barney McKenna,Damaris Woods, and her former banjo tutor, Brona Graham. Since then, she has competed in many Fleadhanna and competitions at county,provincial and all Ireland level. She is the current Ulster Fleadh champion on mandolin. She has also completed her grade 8 in banjo with distinction.Shannon completed her bachelor's degree in music at Ulster University, graduating with first class honours in 2022. She was awarded the Heather Clarke Scholarship by Ulster University for achieving the highest grade in her final year performance. Shannon also completed a Masters in music at Ulster University, graduating with a distinction. Shannon is actively tutoring banjo/mandolin and performing throughout Donegal as well as her neighboring county, Derry. Shannon also holds a CCÉ Teaching Diploma (TTCT).She has made many TV and radio appearances including Highland Radio, RTÉ's Ceili House with Kieran Hanrahan and RTÉ RNAG with Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha. Shannon also had the opportunity to play in a series of concerts in Denmark. Shannon is an active member of her branch, CCÉ Leitir Ceanainn, where she holds the role of Youth Officer.

On the Day

Workshops will start promptly at 10am. Parents should allow time for registration beforehand. Workshops will finish promptly at the stated time and parents/guardians will need to be there to collect their children promptly at the end of workshop.
