The Hunslet Gala

Join us for the Hunslet Gala at Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway!

From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June 2025, celebrate Britain’s rich industrial heritage as part of our Railway 200 festivities.

Experience a unique lineup of Hunslet locomotives, showcasing the evolution of the ‘Fitzwilliam’ Class from 14” to 18” examples, including our resident 16” Beatrice.

Enjoy an intensive timetable with our lavishly restored MK1 carriages including the LNER Thompson Bar Car - serving a range of casks including a celebration gala ale!

A demonstration Goods Train with brake van rides will run throughout the weekend.

At Bolton Abbey station, explore industrial-themed model railways and trade stands, while the Box Van Bar at Embsay keeps the drinks flowing.

On Saturday evening, indulge in the Hunslet Haddock dining train, featuring fish and chips from Bizzie Lizzies.

Capture stunning evening shots as the long summer days fade.
