McKennan Park Wading Pool Groundbreaking Ceremony

Join us at 4:30 p.m. on May 20 at McKennan Park (1500 S 3rd Avenue) to celebrate the groundbreaking on the park's wading pool.

Representatives from the City of Sioux Falls, the Sioux Falls Community Foundation and Sioux Falls Development Foundation, the Park Board, Friends Of McKennan Neighborhood Association will be present.

The construction project will replace the 55-year-old wading pool and bathhouse facilities at McKennan Park. The new wading pool facility featuring zero-depth entry, minor spray features, an updated restroom and pool house, an expanded pool deck with new shading, and landscaping, including a sculpture that will recognize Helen McKennan, who donated the parkland in 1906. This project will enhance the beloved wading pool and park for the community, to ensure the pool is free and enjoyable for years to come.

This project is partially funded by a significant donation from Pierce and Barbara McDowell through the Sioux Falls Parks Foundation, an affiliate of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation.
