Humanities Speaker Series - Death, Memory & Transformation: A Day of the Dead History
Join Stacey Alex, Ph.D. & Willie Suarez, Ph.D. for a discussion about the origins of Day of the Dead and its importance in Mexican American culture!

Dr. Suarez will discuss the influence of Nahuatl mythology, 16th century Spanish nobility, and the Mexican Revolution. Dr. Alex will share how Day of the Dead continues to evolve here in the U.S. and has been shaped by the Chicano social justice movement.

This event is free, and open to the public. The discussion begins at 7:00 p.m. at the UPS Auditorium Robert M. Lincoln Center, 3709 Peters Ave, Sioux City, Iowa.
